33 Surprises

We went along to cheer on the almost bottom of the league local boys The Stormers play the almost top of the league Blues at rugby tonight.

We'd been warned earlier in the week that we were up for a pasting. The Blues took the first 10 minutes of the game but to everyone's surspise The Stomers managed to rack up an amazing 33 points to 20. My hands still hurt from the high/low fives I had to exchange with the guy next to me.

The best all day breakfast

This has to be the best all day breakfast I have ever eaten.

Another appeal, slightly better cause!

In June Tamar is running a project where the company is going to spend a week building a classroom and carrying out other repairs to a primary school in Guguletu which is one of the large townships here in Cape Town. I went to look round the school a couple of months ago when we were selecting the projects, and it's a very different way of life to the UK, and one that is hard to imagine. However the kids and staff are extremely friendly, up-beat and positive, and the Headmaster has been working closely with Tamar to make the project a success.

Tamar is paying to fly the company out to Cape Town for a week, and is paying for food and accomodation, but we are trying to raise money to carry out the building work and refurbishments and to buy new equipment. We are also collecting old childrens books and posters for classrooms. We will be carrying out as much of the building work ourselves as possible.

The project is going to be on ITN News in June and there is a website at: www.tamargoestotown.com. You can check out some of the photos and read more about the project on the site. If you would like to donate some money, send some old childrens books or just leave a comment on the site then any input is much appreciated!

I'll let you all know how it goes - I'm spending next weekend raising money by selling raffle tickets in a shopping centre here - certainly more to come on that!

Lets go surfin' now, everybody's learnin' how

Yes that's right we're taking to the water...

So here's Nicky modeling the latest in 'Go gettin' gear. A lovely 1 peice in black and turquise coupled with the £35 surf board in a slightly rough shape, we'll we can't turn up at the beach with new gear, everyone will think we're a couple of media city types with no idea about the sea or surfing in general..

Snake skin shoe

Here's a track., not very exciting in itself, but the colour's nice with the sky. Where does it go?

Now I'm no Mick Dundee, so when we came across this fella, it made us think again about having a wander in the bush.. I think he used to be a Puff Adder and in our book has a little red skull and cross bones icon.. I assume that's a bad thing..

In true forensic detective style i've included my foot for scale, it's a UK 8 Euro 42 (my foot, not the snake).

George is that you?

I always wondered where the Blue Peter tortoise went. Spending the winter in a box of hay and torn newspapers, yeah right...

Burnt out

Of one of the things we've seen this weekend, the burn scrub was quite eary.
