We heard this was one of the best beaches around and you know what it probably is.. Looks awesome for swimming as it's nice and sheltered - roll on summner..
And to story of the day: The beach was surrounded with some pretty awesome boulders that were well worth exploring so we started to climb etc etc. Nicky was a but worried about dropping her newly repaired glasses into the water so decided they were better placed in the pocket of her top. Sadly a sligh miscalculation resulted in the aforementioned glassed sliding out of said pocket, down the rock and nicely onto the sea below. At which point I ended up down to my undies waist deep in the fridged atlantic waters fishing around for Miss Rogers' Aviators...
Safe to say I had to go comando for the rest of the day but at least she gets to look cool cruising round like Tom Cruise...

Oudekraal beach
Posted by DaveOne busy old week
Posted by DaveSo no blog posts must mean things are bad.
Last week was saw a quick trip back to London 'on business' so to speak.
Here's some highlights of the week..
Ahh beloved Stockwell. In slightly patchy shape at the moment but the work on the street is that Jez has managed to get the council to resurface the resurfacing. Fingers crossed. Nice to See Scott, Whip and Johners..
Contrary to poular belief it is actually Summer - here's proof.
And then to this one..
So here's the thing, down at Mortlake Station there's classic car dealership full to the brim with everyone's favourite classic motors - Porsche, TVR, AC Cobra and the odd Ferrari. And it's always funny in the mornings and evenings walking past seeing career men leering through the security fence as if they're teenagers again. Although instead of working out how many weeks pocket money need to be saved to buy that Corgi, it's how many bonuses need to be be hidden from their better halfs to justify spanking it on a completely unpracticle car. The thoughts that must cross peoples minds - "Maybe if I just got made redundant the payoff might just stretch to that 911"...etc etc.. And the place is perfectly placed, passed each day by eager city and media types on their way to and from work. Like the preverbial carrot on a stick....
Anyways... Late 70's 911, Black, 13k - Repeat after me: "Must work harder...Must work harder...Must work harder...

Long Way Down Arrival
Posted by DaveWe've been keeping track of the Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman as they've made their way though africa on the Long Way Down. Knowing for some time that the end of their trip was Cape Town we'd been keeping a keen eye open for any hinds as to their arrival. As you'd expect things have been very quiet which is quite understandable. So anyways, they arrived August 4th and from the Press Photographs celebrated along at Table View. We did however get a look in down at the hotel they're staying at which I just decided to look up on sunday morning.
As it tunred out there was some stuff going on. It was pretty cool just see the gear out as they're wasn't too much hype and activity down here. You can imagine it being over run on London or New York. The bikes weren't around sadly; the bikes you can see where all BMW promo models from the convoy into town I assume.
We spotted Charlie who got a thumbs up as he was heading out with his family.
Well done to both of them and their support team. I still want a motorbike.
No here's one for you. These are Ewan McGregors undies hanging on the back of the truck, it's nice to know he shares my taste in delicates and we shop at the same place: GAP.

Squashed my egg burger
Posted by The Greenfinch WorkroomsOne of the best things about the racing is the egg burgers you get in the clubhouse. Unfortunately I had a bit of an 'incident' today. It's been raining a lot here recently and just after we bought our egg burgers and chips we had to walk down a concrete slope that turned out to be very slippy. Not surprisingly I managed to slip over and land on my bottom in the wet. What really brought tears to my eyes though was the fact that I managed to land on my egg burger.
I was not at all happy.
Gone Racing
Posted by DaveWe went to Kilarnay race circuit again today to see the Wes Bank V8 Super Series which looked on paper to be a bit more serious racing than last time we went. The place was about 10 times busier than it was last time which had it's downsides. It turns out that in the same way as holidays makers mark their 'teritory' with towels, race goers mark their spot with a flaming BBQ, a barricade of 4X4's and intricate system of fences made up from red and white hazard tape. Dare to cross the tape and you're in serious trouble...serious.
We did manage to find a 'non-marked' teritory but it took some walking - safe to say that's why no-one could be bothered lugging their BBQ's, overweight kids and beer that far.
Here's the view. Aparently one of the top guys racing the super bikes has only one eye. Tough as hell.

Saturday Skating
Posted by DaveI decided it was about time i tried to skate at the weekends and the complete lack of skateparks meant that street skating was on the cards.
Sadly our mid winter days resulted in me having to seek shelter in the form the the car parks of the V&A Waterfront. After bing kicked out of the first super shiney concrete palace i found this monster. !00% empty, 100% mine. Security actually seemed more interested in watching than kicking me out which was a good result.
